Your weekly dose of helpful tips and stories for your career and business.
It's that great time of the week again—our Sunday cartoon rendezvous. (I love the word rendezvous. It reminds me of space missions like in Star Trek and For All Mankind).
If you're tired after a tough week of building your business, I want this blog post to put a smile on your face. My goal is to sprinkle some light-hearted joy into your author or entrepreneurship journey, one smile at a time.
This week's cartoon is not just a sketch; it's a reflection of those amusingly puzzling moments that happen to all of us. We're back at the family table, where tech meets cookies in the most literal sense. Picture our little heroine, ever so eager to contribute, misinterpreting her dad's tech dilemma with tech support about "clearing cookies." There she is, stuffing her mouth and feeding her cat Bulu real cookies to help her father, unaware of the misunderstanding.
This scene is from my childhood moments. I always wanted to help my parents. We really struggled financially and I was looking for ways how I could contribute, even as a small child. I would look for coins on the street, I would sell flowers at bus stops. I even once went to a forest because someone lied to me that it was a charity spot where people were giving away money to those in need. I knew it sounded suspicious, but I thought, what if it is true, even if there is only a 1% chance that it is true, and I don't go? I knew what any help could mean for my parents, who were barely holding it together. So I went. It was really scary to begin with, and it got even scarier when the storm started. And, of course, it was a lie, and there were no charity organization representatives in the middle of the forest giving money to those in need.
Children are often bewildered by terminology they don't know, and parents and other adults don't often have the time, the energy or the will to explain things. Today's cartoon is a nod to how our worlds collide, often in the funniest of ways, reminding us of the simplicity and joy found in misunderstandings.
Our weekly cartoon isn't just about smiling together. It's about bringing a dose of warmth and light-heartedness to the often daunting journey of building an author or online business. It's about reminding us to pause and find joy in the little things, even if it's just a misunderstood conversation about cookies.
So, as we gear up for the week ahead, let's take a moment to breathe in and breathe out, smile, and not take life too seriously. We are not getting out of it alive anyway. Let's embrace the fun and whimsy along the way and enjoy the ride.
We're all in this together, "assembling a trampoline while kids are already jumping on it."
Until next Sunday, let's not take things too seriously, focus on key work that actually will make a difference, and enjoy the ride.
Warmly,
Kris Safarova
